Investing in new bed linen makes sense in so many ways. It’s a relatively inexpensive and easy way to update your bedroom. I decided to take the plunge and give my bedroom a stylish refresh from the extensive range of beautiful linens from Logan and Mason.
A bedroom should be a dreamy, inviting room, free of clutter; but styled in a fashion that suits your space, makes you feel relaxed, and celebrates you with personal finishing touches.
For this simple yet glamorous styling idea my starting point was the Preston Gold European pillowcases. I couldn’t go past these statement pieces in luxurious gold velvet with metallic stud detailing around the edge. They look good with my existing headboard and also the warm grey tones of the wall colour and carpet.
I then opted for the Metro White Duvet cover set. This has a subtle woven chevron pattern which creates a classic base and is easy to dress up with some of the more luxurious items in the Logan and Mason range. The white pillowcases layer well against the gold and black and could easily be used for a number of different looks if you want to change up your bedroom look seasonally.
Adding a textured or faux fur black throw creates contrast and acts as a great anchor colour for the gold accents. A small black accent cushion helps to unify the look.
Lastly, I added the stunning Octagonal Gold Cushion for some bold pattern contrast. This lovely cushion really draws the eye, and makes the arrangement more interesting as well as linking in with the gold of the Preston Gold European pillowcases. Some elements of repetition, be it colour and/or texture are important to make the room feel cohesive and balanced.
For the final accent piece I recruited my dog, Poppy. Her colouring is perfect with all the gold accents and gives my bed that personalised finishing touch. I think she approves of the changes!
For your finishing touches, don’t forget décor items and accessories. These are the accents that complete your room and reflect your personality, tastes and lifestyle. Items like pot plants in interesting containers or baskets, beautiful books, jewellery boxes, candles, flowers and vases. I chose one or two accent pieces in metallic to tie in with the gold linen pieces.
