Mt Eden Bungalow Reno - the kitchen
The owners of this Mt Eden Californian bungalow undertook a major renovation project to bring this tired house into the 21st century. The back of the house was opened up to a sunny back yard and new in ground pool. With the owners having a particular love of mid century furniture, the design needed to work with all their existing pieces while still being contemporary and functional.
We decided on teak veneer for the island and open shelves, and classic subway tiles on the splashback. Gorgeous traditional lights from Mr Ralph hang above the island.
The on bench pantry (pictured below)with bifolding doors has a Caesarstone bench running through to keep small appliances plugged in and ready to use. When the doors are closed everything is tucked out of sight.
The space is open and bright with plenty of personality thanks to the vintage pieces belonging to the clients.
